ANFAA is an A*Midex Chair of Excellence research group hosted at Aix-Marseille University (IDEAS).

We are a collective of scholars and affiliated artists exploring subversive narrative structures and audiovisual practices that open up alternative ways of arranging, telling, feeling, and thinking about the world.

The scientific-artistic project of the Chair ANFAA is to envision beyond dominant, hegemonic narrative forms, by using multimodal apprehension - cinethnographic, sensorial, anthropological, photographic, artistic, sociological, textual, political, and poetical evocations... By doing so, we question the politics of normativity, colonization, and ethnocentrism implied in dominant audiovisual narrative structures.
